The major driving factor behind human behavior, in Freud's view, is the sexual instinct, sometimes known as libido. It pushes us to seek pleasure and satisfaction through sexual activity and other forms of physical pleasure. The aggressive instinct, on the other hand, pushes us to make a stand against threats and challenges and to defend ourselves and our resources. According to Freud, all animals, including humans, are motivated by basic instincts for survival, including sexual and violent tendencies. He thought that these impulses exist in all people from birth and influence how we behave and who we are as people.  Freud felt that these instincts are continuously in conflict with the demands of society and culture, which compel us to control and regulate our impulses in order to live in harmony with others. He claimed that striking a balance between our natural tendencies and societal expectations is essential for maintaining psychological health, and that our capacity to do so is influenced by the events and people in our life.
