Question 1 :
Suppose a retail firm sources apples from three locations in the EU (S1, S2 and S3)
and supplies four outlets in the UK (D1, D2 and D3 and D4) using road transportation.
The transport costs are given in the Table below (i.e. Figure 1).

Suppose the retail firm has four vehicle depots (D1, D2, D3 and D4) from where it
assigns trucks to deliver to its four outlets in the UK (O1, O2, O3, and O4) and the
distances (i.e. in kilometres, km) from the vehicle ports to each outlet are given in the
Table in Figure 2.
